Sustainable Support:
Physician  community

What

Membership model to support wellness

physicians and allied health care/wellness professionals

We wanted to design something that is creative, meaningful.

What you get

  • Power of community

  • co-created wisdom; we don’t have the answers, this is not a unilateral delivering of wisdom.  Rather, sitting with and living the (messy) questions together

  • the ability to be a force for change

Why?

-to be a part of an easily accessible community that supports physician wellness and is independent of school or institution

-for physician leaders/changemakers to learn how to care for themselves and also develop tools to take back to their organizations

-to be a part of meaningful change

-this is for the physician who feels burnt out, isolated, lacks resources/support, feels disconnected from meaning and purpose, and is looking for tools + care

-we want to lift the profession up

Model:

6 pillars of wellness for “the whole physician”

Self care/stress management (this could include pieces on nutrition, sleep, movement, etc. as well)

  • Mindfulness

  • Compassion for self and others

  • Creativity (could include Narrative Medicine practices here)

  • Meaning and purpose

  • Continued growth/evolution

  • Community

What do you get

-monthly webinar (could feature an expert interview if we would like) for learning/community/practice

-monthly journaling/reflective practice circle

-newsletter (frequency tbd)

-monthly guided meditations

-free access to summit plus discount on all SC offerings and coaching

-virtual or in person retreats

-FB group (or similar/preferable platform)

-buddy system/pods depending on size/growth

Pricing

-$45/month with clause that cost should not preclude participation (or have lower rate for med students + residents)

-Potential titles

-The Healer’s Circle

-The Doctor’s Lounge

-The Break Room

-Growing Towards Wholeness

-The Wholehearted Physician–A Safe Space for Transformation

-The Well Physician Community

-The Sustainable Caring Community:  (for physicians/for wellness professionals)

Random notes:

-need ground rules for participation
-need a disclaimer that this is not medical/psychiatric care or therapy
